Lead Counsel Program
What is the Lead Counsel Program?
Lawinfo.com, Inc., the oldest and most establish resource for locating attorneys on the Internet, developed its Lead Counsel Program in 1996 to assist consumers and businesses in finding the best possible legal representation in the shortest amount of time. To become members and earn the Lead Counsel designation, attorneys must receive multiple peer recommendations advocating their inclusion into the program. Lawinfo also verifies every attorney application, checks all references provided by the attorney applicant and contacts the applicant's state bar to ensure that there is not currently, nor has there ever been any client related disciplinary action against the applicant. Should LawInfo discover disciplinary sanctions, the applicant is subsequently not designated as a Lead Counsel Member.
The average Lead Counsel Member has been practicing law for 21.6 years, is highly regarded by their professional peers, and maintains an excellent reputation within their community. Many of LawInfo's Lead Counsel Members hold official positions in major legal organizations and academies and on many boards. Many have won awards, been recognized by their Bar Associations, and played quintessential roles in their communities.
LawInfo takes the Lead Counsel Program qualification process seriously and relies on attorney applicants, attorney peers (references), and attorney members to do the same. Members commit to notifying LawInfo immediately should any status change in their practices that may make them ineligible for continuation in The Lead Counsel Program.

LawInfo.com, Inc. is the closely held California Corporation that conceptualized and implemented the Lead Counsel Program in 1996. Recently, it became evident that there was a need in the Internet community to have a site dedicated just to The Lead Counsel Program, so LawInfo.com, Inc. created the www.leadcounsel.com. NO! Neither The Lead Counsel Program nor any of LawInfo.com, Inc.'s attorney directories are referral services, but programs that allow all attorneys to apply, does not charge attorneys a fee for applying, does not charge visitors a fee to search the various Web sites where Lead Counsel Members may be listed as part of a directory, does not in any way, get involved in the Web site visitors decision to select one attorney from the directory listing over another, and does not, at any time, become involved in any attorney- client relationship. We do research the attorneys that apply for the Lead Counsel Program (only), allow qualified applicants/ members to use the designation and, if they so choose, participate in Internet advertising in some form of directory listing, for a fee.
